• By connecting a 4K or 8K display to a host device that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode 1.4, this cable can use both high-speed lanes to transmit 4K or even 8K video at 60 Hz in one direction at 80 Gbps maximum speed. The U520-31N supports a single 8K display or dual 4K displays at 60 Hz.

Backward Compatible with Legacy USB and Thunderbolt 3 Devices

• Though both connected devices must support USB4 40Gbps for the cable to reach its full potential, the U520-31N is backward compatible with USB 3.x, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt 3 devices. It connects two USB-C devices, including MacBooks, Chromebooks, Windows laptops, smartphones, external hard drives, tablets, docking stations and wall chargers. It is compatible with all USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 devices, enabling use in existing installations while preparing for future upgrades.
