What happened to Computer Showcase?

If you're looking for Computer Showcase, you've come to the right place. Even though we have introduced a new name and website, we are still your University of Michigan owned and operated campus technology store.

Computer Showcase was a University of Michigan campus institution that began with a computer truck load sale in 1987. When the first brick-and-mortar location opened in 1988, “the Showcase” only offered consulting and demo computers for customers to test drive; computers could then be pre-ordered for later delivery.

Since then, we have become a full-service retail operation, carrying a complete inventory of personal technology products for same-day purchase. And so, in recognition of how technology has changed since we first opened our doors, we decided to adopt Tech Shop as our new name.

Powered by Information and Technology Services, Tech Shop will offer an even better shopping experience, backed by the on-site technical consulting and repair service you’ve come to expect.
