If you need products not available through the Tech Shop catalog, please see our special order process for custom configured Apple products or visit M-Marketsite for other procurement options available to departments for technology purchases. Tech Shop is no longer able to facilitate direct shipping for M-Marketsite orders.
We ship to anywhere in the continental United States (excluding P.O. Boxes); this does include both U-M campus and residential addresses. We ship via UPS, and fees are calculated at the time of checkout based on the shipping option selected. Fees include insurance.
Store pickup service is available at both Tech Shop locations. Simply select Store Pickup as your Fulfillment Method at checkout, and we contact you when your order is ready. Order number and departmental shortcode will be required at pickup. Be sure to also bring UMID (MCard)!
Delivery is a complimentary service for all departments on the Ann Arbor campus.
Please complete all the information requested during the order process, including any special instructions that will assist our drivers in locating and accessing the delivery location.
You will receive an email from Tech Shop when your order is queued for delivery.
We will contact you via email to reschedule delivery if the items you ordered are not in stock or if we are unable to make the delivery for any reason.
Deliveries to the Medical Campus will be made Monday through Thursday only to a central location for pickup. If requesting delivery to any of the buildings listed below, please be aware that your products will be delivered to Towsley Center for Continuing Medical Education G2413. You will receive an email from Tech Shop when your order is queued for delivery, and you can expect your products to be available for pickup after 4 p.m. the day you receive that message.
Please note: HITS provides the drop-off location but is unable to provide any support related to Tech Shop orders. All inquiries will be directed to the Tech Shop. If you have questions relating to your order, delivery, or products, please send your inquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We process departmental sales via U-M Shortcode; we are not able to accept P-Cards due to university regulations. Departmental sales are not subject to sales tax.
Through Apple’s Device Enrollment Program (DEP), all Apple devices purchased from Tech Shop are fully compatible with the software used to manage university-owned hardware, which means they are automatically integrated with the U-M IT support environment as soon as you make the purchase.
Tech Shop offers gift cards for use by those faculty, staff, and students who are eligible to purchase from us. The university's Standard Practice Guide has policies that all departments should be aware of regarding the purchasing and dispensing of gift cards.

Tech Shop sells licensed software for personal use. Departments may only purchase licensed software on a Shortcode for use on a faculty/staff member's personal computer.
For information about purchasing licensed software products for use on university-owned computers, please contact ITS Software Services.
Departments are welcome to take advantage of our authorized repair service for university-owned devices under warranty or charged to a Shortcode.
Departmental services include simplified repair or replacement of accidentally damaged devices insured by the university. Through our partnership with Risk Management, we can submit the claim on your behalf and receive reimbursement directly. No need for your department to file a claim, pay for repair, or wait for reimbursement.
