No batteries are required -- simply let the collar charge for 8 hours in full sunlight (or charge it for 3 hours with the included USB cable) and it will run for 2.5 hours in steady-on or strobe mode. The stitching is reflective for additional visibility. The collar adjusts from 15.75-21.5".
