Parents

As you shop for your student, we look forward to partnering with you to ensure that they get the products they need! Our business rules (associated with the educational discounts and licenses provided by our vendor partners) dictate that we must match computer and software sales directly to a registered U-M student. Please note that your student will be required to show U-M ID and/or log in with a uniqname and UMICH (Level-1) password.

You and your student may:

purchase in-store together.
order online.
If you choose store pick-up and your student cannot be present at the sale, please have your student send a email naming you as an authorized purchaser from their U-M email account to [email protected].
purchase a Tech Shop gift card that your student can redeem for the supplies they need.

All communication regarding purchases (confirmations, back-orders, etc.) is directed to the student's U-M email.

Alumni

We're proud to offer all University of Michigan alumni academic pricing that may not be available to you anywhere else.

Local alumni are welcome to shop any of our campus locations, take advantage of our trade-in program, and utilize our Tech Consulting and Tech Repair services.

Wolverines across the country can order online and have product shipped direct; you just need a uniqname to set up a customer account. Don't have a uniqname? No problem! You can create a uniqname online.

Retirees

Please continue to consider Tech Shop your computer store! While some of our computer and software vendors require active university affiliation to purchase from us, you are eligible to shop from a broad selection of products in our catalog.

Dearborn & Flint

Students, faculty and staff are welcome to purchase from Tech Shop. Order online, and we'll either ship your products direct to your door or have your product waiting in the store when you come in.
