Both locations offer at-the-door pickup

On August 23, 2021, Tech Shop re-opened both locations to traditional in-person service and resumed regular store pickup. As of that day, appointments are no longer needed to pick up online orders; however, please do wait to receive confirmation that your order is ready before coming in for pickup.

Tech Shop now offers at-the-door pickup service by appointment at both campus locations—Michigan Union and Pierpont Commons.

Service at the Pierpont Commons location launched on January 19 and will be available on Tuesday and Friday each week. The Michigan Union location offers service Monday through Friday. Please review store locations and hours before selecting your pickup location.

  1. Place your order online. Select At-The-Door Pickup as your Shipping Method and use the dropdown menu to choose your pickup location.
  2. Wait for your order to be processed. When your order is ready for pickup, you will receive confirmation via your umich.edu email address.
  3. Make a pickup appointment. Your confirmation email will contain a link to our appointment booking service.
  4. Pick up outside the store entrance of your selected location on your appointment day and time. Bring your UMID (MCard).

A UMID (MCard) will be required, both to enter the building(s) and to process your Tech Shop order. Tech Shop is also required to follow and enforce all University of Michigan health guidelines, including social distancing, face coverings, and health screening (ResponsiBLUE).
